Open Thread
We have the feeling that there are quite a few people checking in on our blog from time to time. But we don't know for sure if this is the case, and sometimes wonder if our carefully crafted posts are just wandering around the tubes looking for a way out.
So in order to satisfy our tender writers' egos, I'd like to make this post an open thread. You are ALL invited to post a comment that lets us know who you are. You can do this in some cryptic way if you want to remain anonymous to the larger community. I've tried to enable commenting from non-registered users. If it doesn't work, send me an email. Thanks, and stay tuned for a report on our trip to Saint Malo, Mont Saint Michel and other sites in Normandy!

Let me put in a plug for some French modernisme in architecture, as well as painting. If you have another trip to Paris in the works, consider checking out la Maison de Verre (by Pierre Chareau; I'm not entirely sure it's open to the public currently, but worth looking into), l'Institut du Monde Arabe, and le Parc de la Villette. You could also see if Villa dall'Ava by Koolhaas is ever open. If you get down to Lyons, there's a very famous abbey called La Tourrette, designed by Le Corbusier which would just about satisfy your need for exposure to his work. It is open to the public. There's also his church (Notre Dame) in Ronchamps, but that's really in the middle of nowhere.
I look in every 2 to 3 weeks to see whats up. Love all the "articles" you guys are writing. Thanks for taking the time. Would love to see even more pictures.
